Born and raised in Udupi, Jayaram Shetty moved to Mumbai in 1992 at the age of 17, driven by determination, family responsibility, and an entrepreneurial vision. He began his journey in hospitality at Geeta Bhavan, Chembur, starting in housekeeping and gradually building his career through dedication and hands-on industry experience.

Over the years, Jayaram has successfully managed, developed and established multiple hospitality ventures, earning a reputation for his strong work ethic and operational expertise. Today, he is a proud partner in Buntas Restaurant, Jayamahal Lodging, and Anantha Veg World.

With decades of experience, Jayaram believes in creating not just exceptional dining experiences, but warm and welcoming spaces that make guests feel at home.

Uday Shetty was born in Udupi. A self-made man who became a successful entrepreneur at a very young age, he left Udupi at 15 to support his family. Through hard work he worked his way up from manager to owner, known for his discipline, communication skills, and ability to lead teams under high-stress conditions.

His 30 years in the hotel industry have given him deep knowledge of every department, with an eye for perfection in cleanliness and presentation. Today he is the proud owner of Majestic Suites (Dahisar), Anantha Vegworld, Sai Angan Hotels Pvt Ltd (Pune), River Side Resort, Akshith Bar and Kitchen, and many more.

He is also active in social work as former vice chairman and regional youth of Buntsangha Mumbai, secretary of the Mira Bhayandar Hospitality & Entertainment Association, and currently district vice president and an active politician. He believes in and treats every guest as “Atithi Deva Bhava”.

Born in Kundapur, Gopal Puthran’s journey began with courage far beyond his years. At just 11 he left home to support his family, taking on whatever came his way across hotels and canteens in Karnataka. Driven by ambition, he moved to Mumbai at 15 and taught himself English, fueled by an avid reading habit.

At 22 he secured a contract for an industrial canteen, and by 30 he had built 3 canteens and 2 hotels. His breakthrough came in 2005 with Eqvity Hotels, his first owned property featuring a rooftop restaurant, rooms and fine dining.

Today he leads six hotels and resorts, employing over 350 people, with Anantha being his latest and most ambitious venture. A respected community leader, even at 62 he continues to lead with the same passion and hands-on spirit that defined his early years.

Born and raised in Kapu, Udupi, Kiran Shetty’s journey in hospitality is built on grit and a deep understanding of the business from the ground up. A commerce graduate, he began across multiple hotel roles including cashiering and finance, developing both operational insight and a passion for the industry.

With over 23 years of experience in finance, Kiran brings financial strategy, discipline and long-term vision to every venture. In 2018 he took over the management of Eqvity Hotel, going on to be associated with Buntas (2020), Saroja (2023), and now Anantha (2025).

His strength lies in combining financial acumen with real-world operational experience, making him a key force behind the brand’s stability and expansion.

Chetan Shetty is a distinguished hospitality professional with over 15 years of refined experience in luxury hotel operations. An alumnus of Don Bosco College of Hospitality Studies, he began his career with prestigious names including Taj Lands End, Taj Palace, and Four Seasons Mumbai.

He later brought his expertise into the corporate realm with organisations such as CoWrks and Piramal Realty, leading customer-experience functions and blending hospitality principles with corporate excellence.

Guided by an enduring passion for hospitality, he co-founded Anantha Veg World, which quickly rose to prominence as one of the most celebrated vegetarian dining destinations in the region.

Shweta Puthran Mendon represents a new generation of leadership where creativity meets sharp business instinct. A graduate with a Master’s in Fashion Communication from Istituto Europeo di Design, Milan, she launched her own fashion venture at 22, building two brands and a team of over 30.

At 26 she moved into film and digital as a costume designer, working across 20+ web shows and celebrity styling, sharpening her understanding of storytelling and aspirational imagery.

Today she brings that multidisciplinary perspective into hospitality with Anantha, leading marketing and operational development, building a brand that feels contemporary, experiential, and sharply positioned.
